South Carolina United FC announced today that USSF A licensed coach, Clark Brisson, has been hired as its US Club Soccer Training Director. As a member of the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) Hall of Fame, an NCAA Collegiate All American at the University of South Carolina where he was a prolific scorer, a Director and 18 year veteran of No. 1 Soccer Camps held annually across the country, the former Director of Coaching at Bridge FA in Charleston where he won two US Club Soccer National Championships and as current Executive Director of SCUFC Development Academy, Inc., South Carolina’s only member club in the heralded U.S. Soccer Development Academy where he has coached and placed five players from South Carolina into US National Team Camps including the first player from South Carolina to ever be a member of the U.S. U17 Residency Program, Brisson brings with him “a world” of experience, skill and talent. Known for his tireless work effort and his proven ability to identify and develop talented youth, Brisson is expected to have an immediate positive impact on various areas within the Club. "To say we are ecstatic about him joining our soccer leadership team would be an absolute understatement” says Ron Tryon, Club President. “As we have grown in player base so too has our need to add quality trainers and coaches.” When Brisson is not busy directing, training and coaching the U16 and U18 US Soccer Development Academy teams, he will be applying his expertise club-wide identifying and developing the next generation of skilled players coming up through the Club’s massive youth development system. Says Brisson, “South Carolina United FC is doing great things consistent with the Federation’s goals of developing youth soccer players and promoting each to the highest level commensurate with his or her individual ability. I look forward to working alongside the Club’s soccer leadership, trainers and coaching staff to help make South Carolina United FC the model club it desires to be for the Federation.” Brisson commences work September 7th.
