History of the Airport Select Invitational

The Airport Select Invitational was established in 2010 as an opportunity to join teams from all around South Carolina, no matter the classification. ASI 2010 was host to the largest regular season tournament in the state with 18 teams participating. In its first year, ASI was lucky enough to have unbelievable weather and solid play the entire weekend. Coach Jason Mueller North Myrtle Beach were crowned ASI’s first ever champion with a thrilling win in Penalty Kicks over Fort Mill’s Nation Ford High School.

2011 featured a field of 15 teams spanning the state. 2011’s final featured Cardinal Newman and  Pinewood Prep, the result going to Coach Will Eudy and Cardinal Newman by a score of 2-0. This would be the eventual 2011 SCISA State Championship with Cardinal Newman defending their ASI title and also claiming the state’s top prize.

This coming year, we will once again be hosting 18 schools from all around South Carolina. We look forward having you in West Columbia, SC and we hope you as parents, players, coaches, and fans will enjoy your visit to Airport High School.
