The Colloquium was hosted by the Royal Belgian Football Association and the Flemmish Football Association. Coach Vallee gave a 45 minute presentation on South Carolina United FC, the Junior Academy, and the youth development within our club and in the United States. Other key note speakers at the colloquium were: the President of the Royal Belgian FA, the Director of Coaching Education for the Belgian FA, the youth academy directors for Feynoord FC (Holland), Hamburg SV (Germany) and RFC Anderlecht (Belgium). The audience was made up of over 600 coaches from Belgium and Holland, whose career experience ranged from amateur youth coaches to first team coaches of the professional teams from Belgium and Holland.</p><div>During his visit to Standard Liege in Liege, Belgium Coach Vallee was able to get an in depth and behind the scenes look at how one of the top clubs in the Belgian Premier League is run. He spent 2 days touring and studying the Standard Youth Academy, which is considered one of the best in Europe. He was able to sit down and discuss at length the philosophy and structure of youth development at Standard Liege with the Youth Academy Director of the club. Standard Liege displayed gracious hospitality by allowing Coach Vallee to spend an entire day with the first team staff as they prepared for a match the following day. He was able to speak with the first team coaching staff on playing philosophy, the transfer market, playing in UEFA Cup competitions and losing players to international team duty. While in attendance, at the sold out match on Saturday evening, he was interviewed by one of the leading newspapers in Belgium and also by one of Standard Liege&rsquo;s local TV stations.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>In all, Coach Vallee found it a very rewarding experience. He was grateful to have such an opportunity to further his soccer education and share his philosophies with colleagues in youth soccer.</div><div>&nbsp;</div>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p>Savannah McCaskill of the 95 Girls Elite team was chosen by Region III coaches to participate in the 1996 inter-regional Olympic Development games in Florida during Thanksgiving.&nbsp; Regional teams from all four regions of the US, as well as a US Women&rsquo;s Youth National Team, are scheduled to compete during this time.<br /><br />The US National Team coaches will be attending this event to select the top players for National team participation in future events. The Region III coaches will be selecting their top players to attend the foreign trips scheduled for&nbsp;Spring 2011,&nbsp;as well.&nbsp; Savannah is one of only two South Carolina female players to be awarded this honor.&nbsp; We are so proud of you, Savannah!</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 10pt">A combined U15 SCUFC Girls team traveled overseas in July 2010 to compete in Cup Denmark and came home as champions!&nbsp; Cup Denmark&nbsp;had 170 teams from 17 different countries and an estimated 3000 participants.&nbsp; The SCUFC U15 Girls team&nbsp;participated in the U15 age group competing against girls from Sweden, Norway and the Czech Republic.&nbsp; We played 7 games with 7 shut outs!&nbsp; This is the only team in the 10 yr history of this tournament to have accomplished this feat.         <![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left"><span style="color: #000000">Every year a team from&nbsp;South Carolina&nbsp;United is selected to participate in the club&rsquo;s annual <strong>International Youth Soccer Cultural Exchange </strong>with the German soccer club 1 FFC Montabaur.&nbsp;In spring 2010, a group of U16 German boys came over to stay with South Carolina United FC host families for a cultural exchange.&nbsp; In summer 2010&nbsp;a combined U16 South Carolina United Girls&rsquo; team&nbsp;visited&nbsp;Germany for a week.&nbsp;&nbsp;Next summer a U16 Boys&rsquo; team will visit during the summer starting that exchange process.&nbsp; Each year the&nbsp;South Carolina&nbsp;United and FFC Montabaur delegation play for the honor of Sir.
