99 Boys Red win the 2009 Cobb Classic in Atlanta
What a great Valentine’s weekend in Atlanta on Feb 14–15, 2009, for the 99 Boys Red as they played in the U9 Gold division and brought home the 1st place medal. The boys went 3-0 against the first three opponent outscoring them a total of 16 to 4 and advancing to the finals.
The final game was against Cherokee Impact Gold team from Georgia. They were big, quick, strong, and had only allowed one goal in their previous three games. Our boys jumped out quickly and aggressively and set the tempo for the game to win 4 to 1.
Congratulations to coaches and boys on a tremendous effort to overcome some sickness, missing players, wet and cold weather conditions, and to keep the intensity needed all four games to bring home the trophy.
